PAT
Hamilton’s father, Pat Brock, died last week on October 19th at 93 years old. Hamilton lost his father and Chattanooga lost an icon of the city. Pat’s influence is well-represented in the obituary you can find here.
I only met Pat briefly on a couple of occasions. I cannot personally speak to his vast contributions to the people and institutions throughout the greater Chattanooga region. I can offer what I perceive as Pat’s profound impact on one of his six children, Hamilton.
Hamilton has a deep affection for the outdoors. He is an avid fisherman and hunter; he walks, runs, bikes and skis in the natural surroundings he so appreciates. Hamilton’s dad introduced him to the beauty of the outdoors.
Hamilton has a firm understanding of civic responsibility. He knows that a thriving community needs to be supported by regular citizens responding when short or long term needs arise. Hamilton’s dad modeled to him a life of giving back to the place that helped shape you.
Hamilton has a clear expectation of generosity. He knows that financial means and family influence come with the joyful burden of benefiting others. Hamilton’s dad instilled in him the essential gift of altruism.
Hamilton has and will continue to carry forward the traditions of the Pat Brock family. Indeed, these three qualities are already manifest in Hamilton’s adult children. Pat’s enduring legacy is in good hands.

Thank you Will, very gracious words.
